We did it, you did it - Leicester did it! On Sunday 5th October 2008, One Leicester and the hundreds of you who took part were successfully awarded an official Guinness World Record™. Aporximately 592 participants, simultaneously performed 48 different styles of dance to one music track - showing that Leicester really is the world in one city. We beat the previous record, set during the Big Dance for the Mayor of London, in 2006. Some of the dance styles performed were; Soca, Masai Warriors masai war dance, Scottish Country Dancing, Spanish, Cotswold Morris, Ballet, Modern Tap, Polish Polka, Calypso, Cheerleading, Mash Potato, Hula- Hoop, Salsa, Air Guitar, Jive, Moonwalk, Line Dancing, Crump, Belly Dance, French Gypsy, Twist, Hip Hop, Bhangra, Capoeira, Can Can, Waltz... plus many more. WELL DONE LEICESTER!
