The JSNA (Joint Strategic Needs Assessment) Project Board was established in August 2010 to agree and deliver a programme of prioritised needs assessments, which will inform policy development and commissioning activities in the city. The Board will also ensure that needs assessments are accessible and useful to those who need them, principally commissioners, and updated on a regular basis. Currently the remit embraces health, social care and children’s needs assessments.
The JSNA Project Board has derived its remit from the directors named in the current statute, that is, Directors of Public Health, Children’s and Adult Services, through the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007. Core membership of the project board reflects this current responsibilities and also the likely membership in the light of the NHS reforms.
