Safer Leicester Partnership

Chair: Kim Curry - Strategic Director, Adults & Communities

Our vision

To ensure that all citizens of Leicester feel safe within their communities and benefit from an improved quality of life and wellbeing as a result of partnership actions to reduce crime, disorder and substance misuse.

What we do

 We: -

  •  Work together to reduce crime and disorder.

  • Consult the public about their views on crime and disorder in the community.

  • Produce a strategy setting out what we will do to make the city safer. This is based on what we learn from crime patterns and consultation.

Who we are

The partnership is made up of a number of agencies including the City Council, Leicestershire Constabulary, the Fire & Rescue Service, Probation Board and local NHS Primary Care Trusts. The partnership also includes partners from the private sector, such as the local Chamber of Commerce, and the voluntary sector, including victim and witness support services.

Safer Leicester Partnership produced a strategic assessment (our strategy), which identified the partnerships key priorities as:

  •  Violent Crime including domestic violence

  • Stronger Neighbourhoods

  • Reduce Re-offending

  • Acquisitive Crime

  • Alcohol & Drug Treatment
