Designed by award-winning architect Rafael Viñoly

Officially opened by HRH the Queen on 4 December 2008, Curve is unlike any other theatre with no traditional backstage area separating the world of theatre-making from the public - a truly ‘inside-out theatre’. Commissioned by Leicester City Council, the building has won two prestigious awards from the Royal Institute of British Architects and the ProCon Leicestershire Building of the year award.

Phoenix Square is the first independent cinema in the East Midlands to have two cinemas with 3D, digital and 35mm capabilities. Throughout

the year, the programme includes exhibitions, performances, festivals, artist residencies, off-site projects, workshops, education activities,

seminars and conferences. Digital production facilities include a TV studio, digital editing suites and sound and graphic suites. The screen lounge cafe bar is a great meeting place and venue for digital and live

presentations.
