If you haven't visited Leicester City Centre for a while, you don't know what you're missing... in the last 10 years, £3 billion has been invested into Leicester's retail, leisure and grade-A office space. Leicester's Highcross shopping centre opened it's doors in 2008 and offers an awe-inspiring mix of 120 exciting and inspiring fashion stores including the iconic flagship John Lewis store, which recognises the city's hosiery and fashion heritage in it's beautifully depicted exterior.
The newly developed Cultural Quarter boasts such venues as Curve, the new performing arts centre, which was officially opened by HRH the Queen and designed by world-renowned architect, Rafael Vinoly. Phoenix Square opened in the Cultural Quarter in November 2009, fusing together independant arts, cinema, immersive digital gallery and creative workspace. These developments are all complemented by a spruced-up city centre, which was unveiled in 2008, to co-incide with the opening of Highcross and Curve.
